Eaglecrest's annual Snowflake Festival gets underway Saturday and runs through Jan. 6, featuring several activities and contests, including a Christmas Eve celebration, aimed at all age groups.
The celebration features ornament decorating for kids, holiday music sing-a-longs and two separate torchlight parades. Plus, Eaglecrest will receive a visit from Santa and his elves.
During the festival, adults can sign up to win a trip for two on Alaska Airlines to Alyeska Ski Resort every time they come to Eaglecrest. Entry forms are available at the ticket window, Eaglecrest Ski and Snowboard School and the rental shop.
The Eaglecrest restaurant needs a name and is asking area youths 17 and younger to help them out. Entries can be submitted in the suggestions box at the food pick-up area. Winners of both contests will be announced at 1 p.m. Jan. 6 in the Day Lodge.
Two different four-day ski and snowboard camps for all ages and abilities will take place on Dec. 24-28, and Dec. 31-Jan. 4. Anyone interested can sign up at the ski school office or call 790-2001.
Also, Olympic silver medalist Hilary Lindh will perform a Ski Tactics for Adults clinic on Dec. 29, from 10 a.m. to noon, and Dec. 30, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Anyone interested can sign up at the ski school office.
In addition, the ski lifts will be running every day through Jan. 7.
