Age: 18.

Sound off on the important issues at

Grade: 12.

School: Juneau-Douglas High School.

Art of choice: Social dance.

Reason: "It helps me enhance my dancing abilities. Dancing gets my mind off other things such as stress."

How long dancing: "Since I was about 13."

All in the family: "My brother, Rodrigo Jr., has the same passion for dance as me."

Favorites: "The type of music I like best is R&B and hip-hop. I like to read mystery and horror, but mostly adventure type books. My favorite artists, from the top of my head, are Omarion, Marques Houston, Usher and Kat Williams. Soothing music doesn't hurt. It keeps me relaxed, and I can go about my day just fine."

Future plans: "I will keep dancing until my legs break off, knock on wood. I want to learn new types of dance. To someday become a professional dancer and teach dance classes. To become wealthy and wise."

You should know: "I am very nice and easy to get along with, so don't be shy around me. I can also sing pretty good."

Activites: "Volleyball and basketball, cheer/stunt."

You should know: "I'm flexible, sporty and good at gymnastics. Good baby sitter."

Their social dance teacher, Michaela Moore, says: "Ric and Jasmyne are dance leaders. They are part of their own dance team and they dance at numerous events in the community as well as teach various social dances to others.

"The students in class really look up to them. They rely on their experience and expertise. They are upbeat and joyful in the class. Their enthusiasm spreads to all the others. They are giving and kind to everyone. They make all others feel good about themselves."
