Freckles is stunningly attentive and amazingly affectionate. Her inquisitive gaze will capture your attention, and her spry vibe will charm you. She is a young spayed tortoiseshell cat and she is up for adoption at the Gastineau Humane Society.

Sound off on the important issues at

Larry is a neutered male boxer going into his third year of puppyhood (boxers are notoriously young at heart). He's the charming kind of guy that enjoys a good fart joke and would double dip his potato chips if he could. Although he can be a bit of a goofball, Larry is a charming and beautiful beast who will love you to the core.

Papa Pancake is the King of the Guinea Pigs. We currently have five wondrous little piggies up for adoption at the Gastineau Humane Society. There is Papa Pancake, Willy Waffle, Sugar Dumpling, Butterscotch and Bingo. They are all very friendly and you can visit them 3-5:30 Monday through Friday or 2-5 Saturday.

Drew is a down-to-earth 4-year-old neutered male cat with a gigantic head. His sweet personality will surprise you. He just uses his big noggin to nuzzle with. He was a stray kitty so we don't know too much about his past, but we do know that he loves people and other cats.

Rosie is a tinny tiny darling little 1 ½-year-old Siamese kitty. She is one of the staff's favorite cats right now because she is so affectionate and laid back. She will knead her paws and purr when you pet her. Rosie is spayed, micro chipped and up for adoption at the Gastineau Humane Society.

Spazz is actually sweet, gentle and almost even timid. He is not only handsome and awesome but neutered as well! Spazz likes to play with string and has been known to enjoy the company of kind dogs.

You can visit these wonderful pets during visiting hours from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday or 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Gastineau Humane Society.
