Moderate quake strikes Aleutians

ANCHORAGE - A moderate earthquake has struck the western tip of Alaska's Aleutian Islands.

The 5.1-magnitude quake occurred at 2:53 p.m. Sunday.

It was centered about 50 miles east of Amchitka Island.

The West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center says there are no immediate reports the remote earthquake was felt.
