Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:
Shortly after midnight Thursday, three boys, 14, 15, and 16, were cited by police for minor consuming after an additional boy, 16, was observed spinning his vehicles in circles in a parking lot near Brotherhood Bridge.
About 5:30 p.m. Thursday, a man, 47, was cited for failure to yield on Glacier Highway after his 1994 Chevrolet truck struck a 1996 Plymouth van operated by a man, 45. The Chevy suffered $4,000 damage; the Plymouth suffered $7,000 damage. The Plymouth's driver sustained a minor injury.
At 7:45 p.m. Thursday, a 1993 Mazda driven by a woman, 27, and a 1996 GMC Jimmy driven by a man, 40, collided on Egan Drive near its intersection with Willoughby Avenue. The Mazda was totaled and the GMC sustained approximately $2,000 damage. No one was injured.
Shortly after 2 p.m. Thursday, Capital City Fire & Rescue responded to a call for assistance from Mendenhall Glacier. A young woman (age unknown) was injured on the West Glacier Trail. An hour later, an ambulance was en route to Bartlett Regional Hospital with the injured woman. According to Bartlett, she was treated for scalp lacerations and released in good condition.
An Alaska State Trooper is in Yakutat today investigating a report Thursday of sexual abuse of a minor. A source in Yakutat said the father of the victim was stalking the suspect with an intent of harming him. Additional details were not available at the Empire's midday press time.
