Gays the same as everyone else

Letter to the editor

You know what I don't understand? I don't understand why all the sudden everyone feels that we have to team up on people's sexuality. I think people should be loved no matter how they choose to live. I mean, really, we have all these people going against gay people when they are no different then any of us. They just choose to fall in love with someone of the same sex. I think people need to learn how to be more accepting and get over the fact that not everyone grew up the same. I mean, really, you don't see people talking all this stuff about people of different colors the way they talk about people who are gay.

I not only have a sister who is gay, and who I love more than anything in the world and would do anything for, but I also know a lot of people who are gay. I don't feel that people should use someone's lifestyle choice on how you treat them. If people just took the time to talk to someone and get to know them on a friend's basis, or even just someone you say "hi" to every now and then, you would find that they are just the same as everyone else and have the exact same problems as everyone else does.

To go with the articles people have been writing about gay marriages, I totally support them if they choose to marry someone that they are in love with and want to spend the rest of their life with - we let everyone else do it. Why not support gays on wanting to get married? They are just the same!
