The Coast Guard Women's Association recently completed their annual "Christmas Stocking for Disadvantaged Children" project. More than 100 stockings were donated to Juneau charities that work closely with families in need. This year's recipients include St. Vincent DePaul's "Adopt a Family" program, and the A.W.A.R.E. shelter's annual holiday party. Stockings were handmade by Coast Guard Women's Association volunteers and filled with donations from local businesses and private individuals. Stockings were made for children in the age range of newborn to teenager. From left are member of the Coast Guard Women's Association Children's Stocking Project Committee: Rhonda Moser, Katy Vanderwerf, Laura Vanderwerf, Beth Handley, Maria Coffman, Peggy Ann Langlois, Eileen Nally, Melissa Mountcastle and Pam Kihlmire. Absent were: Janet Coffin, Leigh Lonardo, Melinda Palacio and Tamara Williammee.
