Thanks to Capital Transit bus drivers
Sound off on the important issues at
Kudos to all the Capital Transit bus drivers. I have been using Capital Transit as my main transportation for the past few months and just wanted to thank the bus drivers for doing such a wonderful job. They are always polite and try their best to keep on schedule, even during our last snow storm that lasted three weeks. So to you all, happy holidays and be safe.
Thanks for donating to the stocking project
The Coast Guard Women's Association would like to personally thank the following businesses and organizations that supported this year's "Christmas Stocking for Disadvantaged Children" project through their generous donations: Claire's, Coast Guard Auxiliary, Coast Guard Juneau Officer's Association, Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer's Association, Costco, Dr. Ellenbecker, Fred Meyers, Foodland Super Drug, Hearthside Books, McDonald's, Dr. Moeller, Party Zone, Safeway and Super Bear. Stocking donations were also received from private individuals and other organizations that wish to remain anonymous. Stockings were delivered on Dec. 18.
Thanks for helping with toy, coat drive
The crew of Coast Guard Cutter Liberty would like to extend its sincere gratitude to the Juneau community for once again making its annual Toy, Coat and Blanket Drive a resounding success. Hundreds of toys, coats and blankets were collected and distributed to the gracious cities of Hoonah, Pelican, Angoon and Kake. We appreciate Safeway, Super Bear, Alaskan & Proud market and the Nugget Mall, for hosting the collection boxes that were donated by Taku Fisheries. We also appreciate the efforts of Alaska Dry Clean and Laundry, whose staff spent numerous days cleaning and packaging the coats and blankets for delivery. Most of all, we would like to thank all those that donated items. It was a pleasure to conduct the delivery and we look forward to next years event.
