Weekend Chenega sailings canceled
JUNEAU - Bad weather has canceled two sailings of the ferry Chenega, the Alaska Marine Highway System announced Friday.
A sailing to Haines and Skagway Saturday was canceled because of high winds and seas exceeding 10 feet.
The 235-foot ferry will remain at the Auke Bay terminal with no replacement ship making the northbound and return journey
The Chenega's scheduled Sunday trip to Sitka also was canceled due to bad weather between Juneau and Sitka, but has been rescheduled for today.
More scheduling information can be found on the Alaska Marine Highway's Web site at www.ferryalaska.com.
