ANCHORAGE — An ethics panel has found probable cause that Republican state Rep. Bob Lynn violated the Legislative Ethics Act as he campaigned for re-election.
Tuesday’s decision by the House Subcommittee of the Select Committee on Legislative Ethics follows a complaint that alleged the Anchorage lawmaker’s actions served no legislative purpose.
KTUU-TV reports the panel found probable cause for four allegations, including a writing to constituents that stated Lynn was seeking re-election and a card with phone numbers that the panel determined left out competitors of some of the businesses listed.
The panel dismissed six other allegations.
In an op-ed piece, Lynn acknowledged mistakes.
He is to have his newsletters reviewed by the panel throughout 2011.
