Letter to the editor
Sunday through Friday, I avidly peruse the Juneau Empire. I only regret there is no Saturday newspaper.
Around Thanksgiving, I imagined that Letters to the Editor would be of a grateful nature, considering the holiday. I ought not to have thought! As the Christmas holiday nears, may I be so bold as to challenge the good people of Juneau and in other states to submit uplifting letters in the spirit of the holiday? Surely there is quite an abundance of appreciation, gratitude and goodwill to share, at least for a little while. There are probably not a lot of negative opinions that are submitted that produced positive changes anyway.
Just imagine all the people that might feel good for a moment or two because someone else publicly acknowledged that. After all, even though there is a speck of bad in the best of us, there is also a speck of good in the worst of us.
