The FILM Juneau Contest is still under way. Sponsored by the City and Borough of Juneau, Juneau Arts & Humanities Council and the Juneau Economic Development Council, the contest organizers welcome submissions from videographers and filmmakers who are interested in creating a Juneau promotional video that will be aired on the Web. The application deadline is Feb. 15, 2010.
Submitted videos should be no longer than three minutes and should contain elements from each of the following five areas: economy; quality of life, capital city, geography, people and history. The video will be featured prominently on the city's Web site, as well as the sites of the Juneau Arts & Humanities Council and the Juneau Economic Development Council. The CBJ Web site alone receives more than a million hits per month by organizations and individuals worldwide.
Entries will be judged by a panel of judges with the top 10 entries being screened at the awards ceremony on April 2, 2010 at Centennial Hall. The audience will participate in the judging for the winning video. The winner will receive a cash prize of $500.
Application forms are available at the arts council office and online at www.jahc.org.
