Former Juneau resident Herbert Clinton Adams died Dec. 12, 2009, in Union, Wash. He was 85.
He was director of the Alaska Purchase Centennial from 1965 and 1967 and wrote a newspaper column for the Juneau Empire in the 1960s called "Adams Apple." He was a radio announcer for KJNO during the mid-1960s, was director of an alcohol and drug rehabilitation program in Juneau from 1980-1985 and did graduate studies at the University of Alaska, graduating in 1982.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28, at Harmony Hill, 7362 E. Highway 106, in Union. Arrangements were made by McComb Funeral Home in Shelton, Wash.
