Spilt pallets cause closure of Egan Drive

Posted: Thursday, December 23, 2010

The Juneau Police Department closed both inbound lanes of Egan Drive on Tuesday night, after receiving multiple reports of pallets in the roadway, according to a release from the department.

The debris covered a 50-yard area over both lanes between Vanderbilt Hill Road and Hospital Drive, the release states. Several vehicles received possible flat tires because of the pallets. JPD began receiving the reports at 8:07 p.m. and the road was closed for about two hours while the roadway was cleared.

In the release, JPD encouraged drivers to ensure cargo is secure before driving.
