JUNEAU - Alaska's lieutenant governor says the state will seek to have U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski certified the winner of her race as soon as possible.
Mead Treadwell's comments follow a state Supreme Court decision that upholds a lower court's tossing of Joe Miller's challenge to how the state conducted the election.
A federal judge gave Miller until Monday, given the holidays, to decide whether to pursue any outstanding claims in federal court. The state Supreme Court said it found "no remaining issues" that prevented the race from being certified.
Miller's spokesman says Miller is weighing his options.
Meanwhile, Treadwell said the administration would work with lawmakers if they wanted to review the state's handling of the election.
