What's closed for Christmas

All banks, schools, the University of Alaska Southeast, federal offices, state offices, public libraries, pharmacies and borough offices will be closed Monday in observance of the Christmas holiday.

However, some financial institutions, such as Alaska Pacific Bank, will have online banking services and 24-hour telephone banking available as usual.

Super Bear supermarket will close at 6 p.m. today (Christmas Eve) and be closed for all of Monday (Christmas Day).

Carrs will close at 6 p.m. today, be closed all day Monday and reopen at 7 a.m. Tuesday, said manager Leanne Ng.

Alaskan and Proud market will close at 6 p.m. today, be closed all day Monday, and re-open at 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Duck Creek Market will be open Monday from 7 a.m. to midnight.

Alcoholics Anonymous will observe its regular schedule of meetings.

The Fiddlehead Restaurant, The Hangar on the Wharf, The Breakwater Restaurant and Lounge, Mi Casa, Valentine's, and both the Capital Cafe and The Gold Room in the Baranof Hotel will be closed Monday.

The Nugget Mall will open today at 8 a.m. It will be closed Monday.

Arrow Refuse/Capitol Disposal will delay trash collection for Monday through Friday by one day. In other words, put out Monday's trash on Tuesday. The landfill will be closed both Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
