COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - A Coeur d'Alene Mine Corp. executive has been elected president of the Northwest Mining Association.
Luther J. Russell, Coeur's vice president of environmental services, will serve a one-year term with the trade association.
The company's subsidiary, Coeur Alaska, owns the Kensington mine near Juneau.
Russell has been with Coeur for five years. He previously served as vice president of the 114-year-old Northwest Mining Association, which represents 1,850 members the U.S. and Canada.
