FAIRBANKS - A reputed member of the Crips street gang is scheduled to go on trial early next year on charges of attempted murder.
A Fairbanks judge said Wednesday he is unlikely to allow further delays in the case against Arron Young. The 23-year-old was the only person arrested after the occupants of two speeding vehicles were seen firing guns at each in August 2008. No injuries were reported.
The trial had been scheduled for August. Assistant district attorney Elizabeth Crail said delays were needed because she planned to call Army soldiers deployed to Iraq to testify and they didn't return until September.
