Rice named to dean's list
Katrina Rice of Juneau was named to the dean's list at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Ga., for the fall quarter of 2003. Recognition is given to full-time undergraduate students who earn a grade point average of 3.5 or above for the quarter. Katrina is the daughter of Judy and Randy Rice.
McBride graduates from basic
Army Pvt. Justin M. McBride has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C. During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises. The son of Kirk McBride of Juneau, Justin is a 2003 graduate of Juneau-Douglas High School.
