Cleveland Cavaliers forward Carlos Boozer Jr., a 1999 graduate of Juneau-Douglas High School, is seventh among Eastern Conference forwards in ongoing balloting for the 2004 NBA All-Star Game.
Through Dec. 24, Boozer has collected 125,792 votes from fans. Toronto's Vince Carter leads Eastern Conference forwards - and all NBA players - with 1,134,147 votes. Jermaine O'Neal of Indiana is second among Eastern Conference forwards with 872,476 votes, followed by New Jersey's Kenyon Martin (336,888), Chicago's Scottie Pippen (192,083), Indiana's Ron Artest (189,532) and Atlanta's Shareef Abdur-Rahim (134,929).
Fan voting began on Nov. 13 and will continue until Jan. 18. Ballots can be found on the Web at www.nba.com.
The 2004 NBA All-Star Game will be played on Feb. 15 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Starting lineups - determined by fan voting - will be announced on Jan. 29. Head coaches will select the rest of the roster for their respective conferences.
