Festivities to include salsa, masquerade party

Henry's Food & Spirits will offer festivities and giveaways starting from about 6 p.m. until close. Call 796-3765 for more information.

Prix Fixe dinner, 7 p.m.

Zephyr Restaurant will offer a Prix fixe tasting menu ($90) and wine flight ($65) from 7 to 9:30 p.m. A vegetarian tasting menu also is available ($70). Call 780-2221 for more information.

Salsa dance with Salsa Borealis, 8 p.m.

Salsa Borealis will perform at the Juneau Arts & Culture Center New Year's celebration, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Alysia McLain will give a salsa lesson at 8:30 p.m., and the band plays at 9 p.m. All ages are welcome at this event, sponsored by the Juneau International Folkdancers. Prime rib dinner, 8 p.m.

The Sandbar will hold a prime rib dinner from 8 to 10 p.m. Accompanying fancy dessert, homemade dinner rolls, etc., Louis Rogers will sing earlier in the evening and karaoke will be available later. Cost is $25, which includes cab fare to the Mendenhall Valley. Only 40 tickets available. Call 789-3411.

One Aisle Over, 9 p.m.

One Aisle Over's drummer, Daniel Hays, is coming back to town for their New Year's Eve concert, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Island Pub in Douglas. Call 364-1595 for more information.

Tyler Preston and the Downsideup, 9 p.m.

The Red Dog Saloon will be open from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. for New Year's. In addition to live music by Tyler Preston and the Downsideup, there will be $4 Reineers and appetizer specials. Call 463-3658 for more information.

Masquerade Party, 9 p.m.

Marlintini's Lounge will hold a Masquerade Party from 9 p.m. to close. There is no cover, and free masquerade will be handed out to the first 100 guests. There will be door prizes, drink specials and prize package for best masquerade couple. Free cab rides home. Call 789-0799 for more information.

The FileJerks, 9:30 p.m.

The Filejerks, former Juneau residents DJ Smack and DJ Astronomar, will perform from 9:30 p.m. to close at Hangar on the Wharf. Call 586-5018 for more information.

Youth party lock-in, 9 p.m.

The Juneau Church of the Nazarene will offer a youth lock-in from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m., beginning at Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School gym. The lock-in, for all teens 13 and older still in school, includes overnight stay at the church. Once you're in, the only way out is for a parent to pick you up.
