Hoonah resident Alf Andres Skaflestad died Dec. 20, 2007, at the home of his son, Windy Skaflestad. He was 99.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Matilda "Tillie" Skaflestad.
He is survived by his sons, Erling, Alf "Windy," Kolbjorn "Faggen" and Wendell "Goobin" Skaflestad; daughter, Caroline Peterson; and numerous relatives in Hoonah and Norway.
Per his wishes, he will be cremated. A celebration of his life will be held after his family returns to Hoonah. A full obituary will follow.
