MOVIES

"Castaway," (PG-13) shows nightly at 7:20 at the 20th Century Twin, with matinees at 2:20 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

"Miss Congeniality," (PG-13) shows nightly at 7:10 at Glacier Cinemas, with second shows Friday and Saturday at 9:20, and matinees at 2:10 and 4:20 Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

"The Family Man," (PG-13) shows nightly at 7 at Glacier Cinemas, with second shows Friday and Saturday at 9:30, and matinees at 2 and 4:30 Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

"What Women Want," (PG-13) shows nightly at 6:40 at Glacier Cinemas, with second shows Friday and Saturday at 9:10, and matinees at 1:40 and 4:10 Saturday and Sunday.

NEW YEAR's EVE

New Year's Eve Contradance, 8 p.m. to midnight Sunday, Scottish Rite Temple, 4th and Seward, music by the Grateful Celtics and Arm and Hammer Band. Valerie DeLaune and Tom Paul will call, all dances are taught, no experience or partner needed, and wear flat, soft-soled shoes. $5.

Motorpsycho, Juneau rock band, 9 p.m.-1 a.m. Sunday at The Alaskan Bar. Party favors provided.

First Trax, hip hop reggae band from Anchorage, 9:30 p.m.closing Sunday at the Hangar on the Wharf. $5 cover.

Funk Mighty Five, Juneau rock band, 9:30 p.m.-closing Sunday at Marlintini's Lounge, $5 cover, free party favors. Band reunion with guitarist Scott Hamilton.

Dave Dowd and the Soundboys, Juneau rock band, 10:30 p.m.-closing Sunday at the Rendezvous, $2 cover.

THEATER

"Greater Tuna," is held over and will show at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Palace Theatre. Tickets $12 at Hearthside Books and the door. Comedic two-man show, produced by Aside Theatre Group.

CONCERTS

Alice Branton plays the Kimball Theatre Organ, noon Friday at the State Office Building, holiday music and a variety of styles, free. (Also Jan. 5)

DANCE

Juneau International Folk Dancers, 7:30-10 p.m. Friday, Juneau Dance Unlimited Studio. Call Judy, 586-6237.

Dance workshops with Brittany Troutt, beginning dance for younger students grades 3-6, 1-3 p.m. Friday at the Scottish Rite Temple, the cost is $20. For more information call 790-2007.

EXHIBITS

The Second Annual Juneau-Douglas High School Art Show, Juneau-Douglas City Museum, open Friday and Saturday afternoons. Range of works by 10 students.
