AAF accepting applications for grant funds

Posted: Friday, December 28, 2001

The Alaska Fund for the Future (AAF), a donor-advised fund of the Alaska Conservation Foundation, is accepting grant applications from non-profit groups, individuals, communities, and other entities for grants to be awarded in 2002. AFF promotes awareness and understanding of Alaska and supports preservation of Alaska's natural environment, diverse human cultures and sustainable local economies.

AFF raises and strategically grants funds annually to applicants that fall within its niche. Applicants should support AFF's position by demonstrating an active role in emphasizing the preservation of healthy, intact ecosystems throughout Alaska, celebrating the importance of indigenous Alaskans, creating broad public support for conservation in Alaska through media-related projects, or investing in Alaska's future by supporting individuals, fledgling organizations and other entrepreneurial activities. AFF invites those that qualify to apply.

Awards generally range from $1,000 to a maximum of $10,000. Applicants should be received no later than Jan. 11, 2002. For more information and complete details on AFF, please visit ACF's web site at www.akcf.org.
