Longtime Juneau resident Alojzy (Al) Kuchta, 85, walks Thursday along a blustery Calhoun Avenue during his daily stroll though town. "The winter is too warm," said the retired fisherman, prospector, world-champion gold panner and former Polish citizen who survived six years of brutal Nazi forced labor during World War II.
