Juneau resident Barry William Notestine, 53, died Dec. 25, 2005, in Juneau.
He was born May 9, 1952, in Albany, Ore., to Carl and Sarah (Horowitz) Notestine. A Juneau-Douglas High School graduate, he worked as a welder on the trans-Alaska oil pipeline, a longshoreman and a miner at Greens Creek mine. Most recently he worked at Western Auto.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his son, Zachary Carl Notestine of Juneau; partner, Marcia Dale of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, British Columbia; brother Julian Notestine of Goldendale, Wash.; nephew, Garth Notestine of Yakima, Wash.; niece, Aspen Notestine of Vancouver, Wash.; brother Philip Notestine of Christina Lake, B.C.; and sister-in-law, Kathy O'Malley of Christina Lake, B.C.
A private family service will be held at the Alaskan Memorial Park in April 2006. Cards and letters of condolence may be sent to the family at 103 Bradley Street, Douglas, AK, 99824.
