KETCHIKAN - A box filled with raffle contest stubs has been taken from the Veterans of Foreign War hall in Ketchikan.
The VFW benefit raffle was to take place on Friday night. But now the event can't go on without the stubs.
The Ketchikan Police Department is investigating the burglary, which was discovered early Monday morning by a person who noticed a broken window near the bar.
Also missing with the box was a small amount of cash from raffle ticket sales, estimated at about $200.
The VFW has been selling the $10 tickets for its raffle for about six months. Proceeds from the raffle - an anticipated $10,000 worth of cash and other prizes to raffle winners - were to benefit the post.
