Holiday Cup moves into playoff rounds
JUNEAU - The Holiday Cup indoor soccer tournament wrapped up round-robin play on Sunday and has moved into single-elimination games. Championship matches will be held on Tuesday.
Top round-robin teams were:
• Elementary division: Squeaking Lizards and Strike Force (both at three wins and one loss).
• Middle School Prancer division: The Blast (4-0).
• Middle School Dancer division: Galaxy (3-0).
• Junior division: Chubasco (4-0).
• Senior division: Black Star and Blazers (4-1).
All teams will participate in single-elimination playoff games today and Tuesday, with winners advancing to the championship matches. All championships will be held Tuesday at Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School on the following schedule:
• Elementary, 12:15 p.m.
• Middle School "B" (third, fourth and fifth seeds from each division), 1:30 p.m.
• Middle School "A" (first/second seed from each division), 3 p.m.
• Junior, 4:30 p.m.
• Senior, 6 p.m.
