Organization description: Providing meaningful access to justice in resolving civil legal problems for low-income clients, thus promoting family stability and reducing the legal consequences of poverty.
Volunteer positions available: Part-time file clerk/receptionist; senior outreach volunteer, to help organize and provide community education to elders and senior citizens; and a medical records reviewer/interpreter, for disability related cases.
Hours: Three to eight hours a week. Regular and one-time volunteers are needed.
Special requirements: Alaska criminal background checks will be conducted prior to accepting volunteers.
In-kind donations needed: Bus tokens (not passes) and taxi vouchers for clients, who are without personal transportation.
