Last spring, Eaglecrest asked the Canvas to help paint their shuttle bus, an offer the downtown art facility happily accepted. The Canvas invited the community to submit designs, and received over a large collection of "wild and celebratory mountain-inspired artwork."
After Eaglecrest staff Jeffra Clough, Kirk Duncan and Gernot Bucheli found it impossible to pick just one design, the Canvas decided to incorporate six designs into one collage of images.
Kids and adults from the community and the Canvas Day Habilitation program met at the Eaglecrest bus shed over a period of several weeks this fall to paint the bus, and now it's ready to drive skiers and boarders up and down the mountain.
Design winners include: Katie Strehler, Naara Conlon, Riley Crocker, Ronan Lynch, Lily Newsham and Donna Griffin. Canvas staff and artists from the REACH Day Habilitation program who helped transfer the designs from paper to the bus include: Gary Peterson, Luis Hernandez, Erin Carroll, Sara Franzoni, Michael Missler, MK MacNaughton, Reuben MacNaughton and Rorie Watt.
