Terry Johnson Stone died on Dec. 16, 2010 at the Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, Wash., of complications from chemotherapy. He was 56.
Born to parents Homer and Fredia Stone in Memphis, Tenn., Terry was a 1974 graduate of the University of Memphis with a Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering. He was a 15-year resident of Juneau, previously employed as a project manager in the City and Borough of Juneau's engineering department.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and had a great love of the outdoors. He lived his boyhood dream by living in Alaska.
He is survived by his wife Kayann Virginia Stone; his sister Alyce Stone and brother Michael Stone of Tennessee; and multiple neices and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and a private celebration will take place in the spring at Terry's tent camp on Admiralty Island, which his family called "his most spiritual place."
