FAIRBANKS - A Fairbanks man has been arrested in connection with 10 burglaries, and Alaska State Troopers say they're looking for a second man who may have helped him steal $100,000 worth of jewelry this week.
Troopers say 23-year-old Lance Allen Viers was taken into custody Monday night in a restaurant parking lot because he was wanted for questioning in burglaries dating to June. They let another man, 24-year-old Kyle R. Fisher, go because they didn't initially know the car he was driving was stolen.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported that according to a criminal complaint, a flat-screen television in the stolen car matched one stolen from a Fairbanks home where $100,000 worth of gold, diamonds and jewelry was also taken.
Troopers believe Fisher is still in the Fairbanks area.
Viers has two prior misdemeanor theft convictions, and a third misdemeanor case is pending.
