ANCHORAGE - Alaskans can begin applying for their 2011 Permanent Fund dividend checks on Saturday.
KTUU-TV says the application period extends from Jan. 1 through March 31.
Applicants can apply online, or visit one of the designated distribution centers to pick up forms and an information pamphlet for first-time filers.
In the fall, nearly every Alaskan received checks of $1,281 when the 2010 Alaska Permanent Fund dividend was paid. The money comes from investment profits from the state's multibillion-dollar oil-wealth savings account.
