Vehicle accidents:

Police cited a man, 18, for violating the basic speed limit following a one-vehicle accident at 9:56 p.m. Sunday near Egan Drive and Norway Point. The man lost control of his 1996 Mazda truck and it hit a guardrail. Damage to the truck is estimated at $3,500.

No citations were issued following a one-vehicle accident at 10:35 p.m. Sunday near Egan Drive and Aurora Basin. A man, 21, was driving a green 1998 Dodge truck when it slid out of control. There was $1,500 in damage to the truck but it was driven from the scene. There were no injuries.

The Coast Guard rescued two stranded Juneau hunters on Admiralty Island around 12:30 a.m. Sunday. They had no injuries and were in good condition. The two were reported missing by the rest of their hunting party when they failed to show up by 3 p.m. at a cabin in Seymour Canal. The Coast Guard said the men were dropped off by the rest of their party earlier Saturday morning. By the afternoon they realized they were lost, built a fire and decided to find their way back in the morning, the Coast Guard said. A Coast Guard helicopter from Sitka located the hunters after 48 minutes of searching because of the fire they built.
