FAIRBANKS - A Fairbanks man was killed in a single-vehicle rollover accident on the Steese Highway on Sunday night, Alaska State Troopers said.
A witness told troopers a truck passing another vehicle struck the median, spun out of control and rolled down an embankment, coming to rest on top of the driver.
Richard E. Cutshall, 74, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Trooper Sgt. Dave Drvenkar said the witness estimated Cutshall was driving near the speed limit of 55 mph. However, the slick road surface could have been a factor in the accident, Drvenkar said.
The investigation is continuing.
