Police and Fire

Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:


• Several CDs were reported stolen at 7:56 a.m. Monday from an unlocked 1994 Ford truck near Parkwood Drive. The items are valued at $200.

Vehicle accidents:

• No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 1:49 p.m. Monday near outbound Egan Drive and the retaining wall. A 1999 Ford Expedition, driven by a woman, 58, spun out of control and struck the retaining wall. The vehicle sustained $4,500 in damage.

• Police cited a man, 64, for speeding, following a two-vehicle accident at 4:42 p.m. Monday near Glacier Highway in Lemon Creek. A 2001 Ford Explorer struck a 2001 Chevrolet, driven by a man, 36, as the Chevrolet turned left onto Glacier from the Kmart parking lot. The Ford sustained $1,000 in damage and the Chevrolet sustained $3,500 in damage.

Hit-and-run incidents:

• A 1997 Ford Aerostar was reported struck by an unknown vehicle at 9:49 a.m. Monday near Sixth Street and Gold Street. The vehicle was struck between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Monday. Police did not have a damage estimate for the vehicle.


• Police arrested Michael Albert Pando, 36, on an outstanding Colorado warrant at 9:36 a.m. Monday near Cove View Place. The $20,000 extraditable warrant charges the man with second-degree assault, a felony, and failure to comply with probation. He also was charged with being a fugitive from justice. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
