Daniel Charles Sr. died on April 6, 2017, at the age of 79.
Charles was in the Marines for four years. He drove cabs and worked in the pulp mills. His last job was a school bus driver for First Student.
A resident of Ketchikan for more than 20 years, he died in his home.
Mr. Charles was preceeded in death by his mother Alice T. Charles Olsen, wife Isabel P. Charles, brothers David Charles Jr., Dean Charles, sister Inez Johnson, grandson Joel W. Charles and father David Charles Sr.
He is serviced by his sisters Virginia Mata, Verna Bamks, Theodore Witham and Alice Molton; brother Terall G. Charles; children Alice E. Charles, Betty Charles, Daniel Charles Jr. and George Charles; grandchildren Bettina I. Charles, Alicia M. Yatchmanoff, Crystal N. Fawcett and Josephine W.A. Jim and Georgina Solomon; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren great-grandchildren and cousins.
