Asper-Smith, Watley wed
Sarah Asper-Smith and Mitch Watley married Aug. 20 at Thane Ore House.
The bride is the daughter of Bridget Smith and Jim Asper of Juneau. She recently earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and is a self-employed artist and designer.
The groom is the son of Clifford and Sharon Watley of Irving, Texas. He attended the Art Institute of Dallas and is employed with the state of Alaska.
The bride’s sister, Brenna Asper-Smith, Marlowe Dunker, Elizabeth Wagner, Ann Schmid and Aaron Suring attended the bride. Brook Lynn Riley, Collette Costa, Leo Ellis and the groom’s father, Clifford Watley, stood with the groom. Molly Smith and Suzanne Blue Star Boy, the bride’s aunts, officiated the service.
Pastor Lunchmeat and the Pimientos from Haines, featuring Olive Loaf, played at the wedding.
