KD Roope and Wess Strasburger wed Dec. 31, 2011 at the Baranof Hotel in the Gastineau Suite overlooking the channel with a reception at McPhetres Hall.
The bride is the daughter of Pam and Dan Roope of Wrangell. She graduated from Wrangell High School and attended the University of Alaska. She is employed with NEA Alaska.
The groom is the son of Natalie and Stephen Strasburger of Wrangell. He graduated from Wrangell High School and attended the University of Alaska. He is employed as a marine biologist with NOAA.
The bride was attended by Alexandra Job, Kevin Roope, Jesse Riesenberger, Brian McCloskey and Ryia Waldern. The groom was attended by Stuart Ashton, Dan Rohr, Ian Thrower, Kyle Kradolfer and Dan Bleidorn. The wedding was officiated by long-time friend of the couple, Ronan Rooney.
They enjoyed homebrew created by the groom and ended the night with sparklers and confetti.
The pair will continue to make their home in Juneau.
