Nona Hamilton-Head and Chris Dimond wed May 12, 2012 at the glory hole in the Treadwell Mining Complex on Douglas Island. A reception followed at the Island Pub.
The bride is the daughter of Tricia Funk and Erik Bjella of Ocean Shores, Wash., Pam Varni and Bob Funk of Douglas and Karen and Ian Hamilton-Head of Norfolk, United Kingdom. She is employed witht he Alaska State Legislature.
The groom is the son of Jackie and Tim Dimond of Douglas and Wendy Dimond of Rockledge Fla. He is employed with North Pacific Erectors.
Jennifer Lush of Seattle, Wash. was the maid of honor and Erna Bodewitz of Anchorage was the bridesmaid. McKenzie and Rebecca Dimond of Polson, Mont. were flower girls. Jeff Trucano of Juneau was the best man and Michael Enders of Douglas was the groomsman. Gavin Holt of Douglas was the ring bearer and Chad Calhoon was the usher and drove the party. The wedding was officiated by Sen. Gary Stevens.
The wedding party was shuttled through the rain and mud in a golf cart to the glory hole, a place that held meaning to the couple. The couple will continue to make their home in Douglas.
