Patrice Aphrodite Helmar and Matthew Stephens Adams will wed June 30, 2012 at the Metcalfe family home since 1928 at 730 Gold Street, with a reception to follow at the Juneau Arts & Culture Center.
The bride is the daughter of Kimberly Metcalfe and the late Paul Helmar of Juneau. She graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School and attended Southern Oregon University for her Bachelor’s in English and writing, and the University of Alaska Southeast School of Education for her master’s in Secondary Education. After student teaching eighth-grade language arts under the tutelage of George Gress, she hopes to be employed with the Juneau School district in the fall.
The groom is the son of Katherine and Jim Adams of Eagle Creek, Ore. He attends the University of Alaska Southeast, earning a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, he is emplyed as a forestry technician with the U.S. Forest Service.
The couple were engaged at Eagle Beach Oct. 2, 2011 and will continue to make their home in downtown Juneau.
Friends and family are invited to attend the wedding, which will begin at 4 p.m., with the reception following at 6 p.m. Due to limited parking, guests are encouraged to walk or take a taxi to the Metcalfe home.
