Krista Albers and Tim Lyon wed May 19, 2012 at Mare Island Shoreline Heritage Preserve at the hull of the Spirit Ship monument overlooking the San Francisco Bay in Vallejo, Calif. with a reception following at the Vallejo Yacht Club.
The bride is the daughter of Kevin Albers of Fort Collins, Colo. and LaStar and Dan Miller of Juneau. She graduated from high school in Belle Fourche, SD and attended the Art Institute of Portland in Portland, Ore. She is employed with Gastineau Guiding as a naturalist. She will continue classes in the fall toward a degree in art and communications.
The groom is the son of Joy and Rich Lyon of Juneau and Cindy Lyon of Kirkland, Wash. He graduated from high school in Woodinville, Wash. and attended Evergreen State College in Olympia, Wash. He is employed with Gastineau Guiding as a captain. He will begin classes in the fall at the California Maritime Academy.
Kacey Albers was the maid of honor, with eight other bridesmaids. Grant Wilson was the best man, with eight other groomsmen. The wedding was officiated by longtime friend Tyler Urbigit. The reception and ceremony featured live music and Alaskan touches like wild Alaska salmon for dinner.
Following a honeymoon motorcycle trip through Yosemite, Las Vegas and the West Coast, the couple have returned to Juneau for the summer, though they will make their home in Vallejo for now.
