Root, Hernandez to wed

 

Shannon Nicole Root and Daniel Joseph Hernandez will wed Sept. 28, 2013 at the Warren Valley Golf Center in Dearborn Heights, Mich., with a reception to follow.

The prospective bride is the daughter of Linda and Daniel Root of Redford, Mich. She graduated from Lee M. Thruston High School in Redford and attended Central Michigan University. She is employed as a play therapist with North Star Behavioral Health Center in Anchorage.

The prospective groom is the son of Sherry and Steve Hernandez of Sparks, Nev. He graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School and attended the University of Alaska Anchorage. He is employed with the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C.

The prospective bride will be attended by maid of honor Erin Murtagh and bridesmaids Jessica Novak, Megan Hoffer, Jillian Black, Rachel Black and Heather Harris. The groom will be attended by best men Mel Punongbayan and Brian Reishus, as well as groomsmen Eric Neal and Will Dahl.

The couple met through mutual friends in Anchorage and he proposed during the winter holidays surrounded by family and friends. The couple currently make their home in Fayetteville, N.C.
