Ashley Elena Anderson and Evan Thomas Winton wed Sept. 12, 2012 at the Queenstown Courthouse in Queenstown, New Zealand, with a reception to follow in Cairns, Queensland, Australia in 2014 for the couple’s loved ones.
The bride is the daughter of Patrick Anderson of Anchorage and Melanie Millhorn and Robert Weeden of Juneau. She graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School and attended Humboldt State University and the University of Alaska Southeast. She is the manager of The Bead Shop in Queenstown.
The groom is the son of Jenny and Gary Lee, and Stuart and Mary-Anne Winton, all of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He graduated from Vermont Secondary School and attended Swinburne TAFE. He is an equipment operator with Civil Construction in Queenstown.
Honorary matrons of honor were Melinda Schmitt, Amanda Spickler and Shaley Hunt. Honorary bridesmaids were Emma Winton, the bride’s sister-in-law and Chelsea Weeden, the bride’s sister. The honorary flower girls were Saelyr and Scout Hunt, the bride’s cousins. Honorary best men were Sam Barling, Simon Munro and Mark Harvey. Honorary groomsmen were Lewis Winton, the groom’s brother; Alexandr Anderson, the groom’s brother-in-law, and Austin Anderson, the groom’s brother-in-law. Honorary ring bearers were Jager and Hudson Hunt and William Millhorn, the bride’s cousins. The wedding was officiated by marriage celebrant Margaret McSweeney.
The couple met in Cairns in September 2009 while the bride was traveling and the groom was relocating for work, they have been traveling together since. The couple will make their home in Queenstown.
