Haffner, Day wed

Kaya Haffner and Christopher Day wed May 10, 2013 in an intimate beach ceremony in Melbourne, Fla, officiated by Dona Grigsby. A reception was held at The Prospector Hotel in Juneau with family and friends.

The bride is the daughter of Ron Haffner of Juneau and Michelle Robitaille of Patrick, S.C. She graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School and attends the University of Alaska Southeast, as well as being employed with Goldbelt, Inc.

The groom is the son of John Day and Tillie Lundy-Day, both of Juneau. He graduated from Juneau Douglas High School and attends the University of Alaska Southeast, as well as being employed with Goldbelt, Inc.

The bride and groom first met and became best friends in 8th grade. Nearly seven years later, he proposed to her on the beach in Hawaii at sunset. The couple will make their home in Auke Bay.
