Fiehlers to celebrate 60th anniversary

George and Virginia Fiehler will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary July 18.

The couple met in Sidney, Neb. and moved to Juneau in 1972. They have four children, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the occasion will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. July 17 at G.W. Teal in the Mendenhall Mall. The couple requests no one bring presents.

Cruz, Smith wed

Rhonda Cruz and Mike Smith Jr. were married Jan. 16, 2011 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in San Francisco. The bride is the daughter of Benny and Amparo Cruz of Juneau. She graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School and has attended San Francisco State University and Holy Names (Oakland, Calif.) University. She is currently employed at Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory school in San Francisco.

Muse, Dietrick wed

Beatriz Muse and Andrew Dietrick married June 25 a Harlequin Point in Juneau.

The bride is the daughter of Ben and Cathy Muse of Juneau. She graduated from Juneau-Douglas high School and attended the University of Alaska Anchorage’s School of Nursing. She is currently employed at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage.

The groom is the son of Larry and Kathy Dietrick of Juneau. He graduated from JDHS and attended Oregon State University’s College of Engineering. He is currently employed at Alyeska Ski Resort in Girdwood.

Kings to celebrate 50th anniversary

Mary Lou and Jim King will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at 4 p.m. Friday with an open house at their Juneau home.

The couple married April 8, 1961, in Juneau.

All family and friends are invited to the open house. Light snacks will be provided.
