Skiers and snowboarders who were ready to hit the slopes on opening day this Saturday Dec. 1 will have to wait.
Eaglecrest announced Monday that opening day will be pushed back at least one week while they wait for more snow or colder temperatures.
This year they have added a new pump house and five additional snow guns, which they hope will allow them to get the mountain open faster than usual. The new opening day is currently set for Dec. 8 on the Eaglecrest Ski Area website.
The National Weather Service predicts a chance of snow and rain for Sunday night into Monday with temperatures this weekend in the mid-30s.
