Republican gubernatorial candidate Mike Dunleavy will host a town hall discussion on crime and public safety from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday night at the Mendenhall Public Library.
The discussion will take place in the library’s meeting room and is one of a series of events featuring the former state senator, who will be in town through the end of the week.
At noon Thursday, Dunleavy will appear alongside Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mark Begich and incumbent independent Gov. Bill Walker at a forum hosted in Centennial Hall by the Juneau Chamber of Commerce.
The forum will be mediated by KINY-AM reporter Pete Carran, and tickets are $25 each. The cost includes lunch.
At 5 p.m., Dunleavy will appear at the Rie Munoz Gallery, 2101 Jordan Ave., for a fundraiser benefitting his campaign and that of Republican lieutenant governor candidate Kevin Meyer.
Dunleavy is among many local and statewide candidates holding events in Juneau this week:

Weldon hosting meet-n-greet
Beth Weldon, candidate for Juneau Mayor, is hosting a meet and greet at 7 p.m. Thursday at Squirez, the bar in Auke Bay. Billed as “Beer & Wings with Beth,” the event is not a fundraiser but a chance to “talk with her, ask questions and share your concerns or issues about Juneau’s future,” according to an event listing.
Beer will be provided, as will wings served by Devil’s Hideaway, the restaurant within Squirez.
Preceding the beer and wings event is a more traditional meet and greet between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at Operating Engineers Local 302.
