Instacart, a national company that allows people to get personalized groceries delivered to their home, is expanding its services to Juneau and other Southeast communities as of this week.
The company is partnering with Costco, Fred Meyer, Petco and Safeway in Juneau after what Instacart General Manager Michelle McCrae called an “incredible demand” for the service in the Juneau area. According to a press release, Instacart will serve Juneau, Admiralty Island, Angoon, Cube Cove, Excursion Inlet and Port Alexander.
People can log on to www.instacart.com, select their zip code and their store of choice and then pick out their groceries. They can then select when they want their items delivered, ranging from one hour to five days.
For orders of $35 or more, there is a $5.99 delivery fee. People can also get an Instacart Express membership, which is $14.99 a month and $149 a year. The membership allows people to get unlimited and free same-day delivery on orders of $35 or more.
First-time users can also enter the code HIJUNEAU at checkout to get $20 off an order of $35 or more, plus a free first-time delivery. That deal expires Nov. 6.
