The Juneau Police Department’s biennial vehicle auction is taking place this Saturday, offering dozens of cars to eager bidders.
The auction, which happens twice a year, will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, but there will be an advance viewing on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The viewing and the auction will both take place at 9390 La Perouse Avenue, just off Berners Avenue near the Juneau International Airport.
A full list of cars is available on the JPD website, along with a full set of rules. Cars range from as old as 1978 to as new as 2010.
Bidder registration begins at 9 a.m. Saturday and the auction will begin promptly at 10 a.m. To be registered, attendees must be 18 years old, have a photo ID and provide their name, address and phone number. Upon registering, bidders will receive a bidder number. These numbers can’t be shared, and to participate in the auction, you must have your own bidder number.
All items must be paid for within an hour of the auction ending. JPD accepts cash, certified checks, cashiers checks or personal checks. Buyers will receive a Bill of Sale when they pay.
Purchased vehicles must be removed by 4 p.m. Saturday, otherwise the cars and the amount paid for them will be forfeited. Any additional questions beforehand should be directed to JPD at 586-0600.
